The client
The Jenny Lind Inn is a historic pub and guesthouse at 69 High Street, in the heart of Hastings Old Town, two minutes from the beach and the Stade. It is known for its real ale, with eight hand-pulls and up to eight real ales or ciders on at any time, its live music and its Tudor character.
The brief
The pub needed a site that people would come back to: an up-to-date guide to what’s on, alongside the practical information for drinkers and for guests staying in its rooms.
The build
I built the site in 2019 on a custom theme and have looked after it ever since. The What’s On listing is the heart of it: a regularly updated programme of live music, including the weekly Shanty Sessions, with dates, times and descriptions for each event, managed with Event Organiser.
Pages for the bars set out the beers and the garden areas, and the Stay section covers the family, double and twin rooms, all en-suite, with booking and contact details. The design carries the pub’s ornate signage through to the web.
The site is kept current as events, rooms and opening details change, most recently with a refreshed homepage in 2026.
